Intel ISEF Advisory Council Opportunity

If anyone is interested this is a great experience and it would be awesome to have someone from Iowa serving on the board again!  Our last representative was Mr. Walter Reemtsma from Algona.  Please consider the option if you meet the eligibility requirements.

Re:       Nominating Individuals to serve on the Intel ISEF Advisory Council

Are you, or someone you know, interested in serving on the Intel ISEF Advisory Council?

There are currently seven openings on this group of 24 volunteers – all parents, teachers, and science fair directors – who provide counsel on matters regarding the Intel ISEF program. In return, Council members gain valuable insight into the workings of the Intel ISEF program to share with their home fairs. The Advisory Council is active during the Intel ISEF, meeting three times during the week and helping out at other times with focus groups, Symposia facilitation, international hospitality, and support for Society for Science & the Public.

Eligibility:

·        Must commit to serving on Advisory Council for three consecutive years

·        Must have five year’s experience with affiliated regional, state, or national science fair

·        Must have attended the Intel ISEF for a minimum of three years

·        Must participate in committee activities during Intel ISEF

SSP does not pay housing or travel costs for Advisory Council members, but will waive the registration for individuals who are not traveling as part of a fair’s Official Party.

Further details are included on the attached application form. The deadline for nominations is Friday, March 23.
